Gearing up for the UEM European Championship

Gearing up for the UEM European Championship

With registration already closed and less than two weeks before the fifth UEM European Championship –which will take place at Albacete on 6th–7th October– 111 riders representing 20 different countries are confirmed to be in attendance.

In the 125GP/ Moto3™, 41 riders will come to Albacete Circuit with the intention of occupying the top spot that Romano Fenati has left empty since moving on to the World Moto3TM Championship. Rising stars in the international motorcycling world such as German Philipp Öttl, British rider John McPhee, Italian Andrea Migno, Spaniard Juanfran Guevara, and many others, will fight more fiercely than ever for the title.

Jordi Torres, who is 2011 UEM European Champion in the Supersport 600 category, rider in the Moto2™ World Championship and 2011 Champion of the CEV Buckler Moto2™, will return to the La Mancha track with intentions to hold on to his triumph of last season. Torres must beat the other 39 riders from all over the continent that will be on the track, such as Czech rider Karel Pesek or Finnish riders Thomas Sigvartsen and Jesse Maikola, champion and runner-up in the Nordic Championship.

After his turn in the MotoGP™ World Championship, Iván Silva – European Champion 2011 in the Superstock 1000 category – returns to the UEM European Championship to defend his title from the best riders of the moment. Recently declared Champion of the CEV Buckler Carmelo Morales, winner of the Alps-Adria Michaal Filla from Czech Republic, Norwegian Ole Bjorn Plassen, and many others will try to attack his title.
