Aspar duo neck-and-neck as Aragón CRT fight continues

Aspar duo neck-and-neck as Aragón CRT fight continues

Power Electronics Aspar’s Randy de Puniet heads into the final stages of the season as the leading CRT rider in the championship after a season-long battle with his teammate Aleix Espargaró.

With just three points separating the pair and another twenty back to their nearest CRT challenger it looks certain to be a two-way fight to the finish in the new concept of MotoGP. Both riders enjoy the Motorland layout and as usual they are determined to push each other to find the limit of their ART machines.

Randy de Puniet

"Motorland is a fast circuit with some steep hills and I find it interesting to ride. I have always had a good feeling there although never managed great results. Hopefully this weekend the result matches the feeling! We want to continue to be the reference point in CRT. I have checked the weather forecast and it looks like it is going to rain although I hope we can get a dry session. We have had a good base setting for the last few races so we won't touch much this weekend - just a few small tweaks."

Aleix Espargaró

"Motorland is a track I really like, especially with all the elevation changes. I have good memories of the year I raced there in Moto2 and after slipping up at Misano we need another good weekend now to get the better of Randy any way we can. It has been an interesting battle between us all year and now we have to push hard in the final sprint. Motorland has a lot of blind corners and I especially like the 'Corkscrew' in sector two. It is a very complete circuit and you need to ride it well. We'll be using the same base set-up as Misano and the previous races."
