More work to do in warm-up, Crutchlow admits

Cal Crutchlow was highly pleased to have sealed his second consecutive front row start for the MotoGP™ Gran Premio Iveco de Aragón, but admits that the Monster Yamaha Tech 3 crew still has much work to do in Sunday’s morning warm-up session.

For much of the hour-long qualifying session, it looked as though the Coventry-born rider could pick up the first British pole position for ten years. He eventually managed a best effort of 1:49.576, which missed pole by one and three quarter tenths of a second.

"I think we did a good job," he reported. "The aim was to get the bike set up for the race, but we went straight out of the box and were fast, then again on the second of set of tyres. We have missed quite a lot of the track time in comparison with the other guys, as we only did one day at the test, but I think the guys have done a great job and we’ll have to do some more work in the warm-up. We’re pleased and hopefully we’ll be in the top three tomorrow."

Crutchlow notched up a career-first podium finish in the bwin Grand Prix Ceske replubliky at Brno Circuit one month ago.
