Welcoming a Champion - Berkheim celebrates Sandro Cortese

Sandro Cortese’s idyllic home district Berkheim in Baden-Württemberg is getting ready to celebrate his Moto3 World Championship victory. On the 17th November at 13.30, there will be a 2-hour celebration event for the 22-year-old motorcycle racer, his friends and fans.

Motorsport giants such as Jonas Folger (Moto3 racer), Stefan Bradl (MotoGP racer), the Red Bull KTM Ajo Team, KTM Head of Motorsport Pit Beirer and air race pilot Matthias Dolderer will be on hand to provide adrenalin-charged action. The line-up also includes the Red Bull Skydive Team, a freestyle motocross show plus a high-performance Red Bull racing thunderbolt. This event is free of charge. For more information, visit

Preparations have been underway to make the 17th of November a very special day for Sandro Cortese ever since his Moto3 Grand Prix World Championship triumph in Malaysia. The dream of every world champion, to celebrate back home with friends and fans, will become reality. Everything is in place, the permits have been granted – Berkheim is all set to stage an action-charged reception. Sandro Cortese is excited about the event and delighted by the program organised for his fans: “I’m really, really excited about the reception in Berkheim. It’s going to be an amazing, world-class event,” he said. “It’s a great honour for me, I hope that lots of fans and motorsport enthusiasts can make it. Whether from Germany, Austria or Switzerland, everyone is welcome to come and join the party!”

As well as Sandro’s fans, a number of motorsport stars have announced they will be attending – so there’ll be no shortage of smoking tyres and high-performance horse power. Sandro’s Red Bull KTM Ajo Team, KTM Head of Motorsport Pit Beirer, his German Moto3 rival Jonas Folger and last year’s Moto2 World Champion and MotoGP racer Stefan Bradl will all be there.

The event kicks off with a warm-up on Berkheim’s main drag at 11.30. At 13.30 the World Champion reception gets underway with a spectacular Red Bull Skydive Team show. Sandro Cortese will then take the stage himself to celebrate his triumph with his fans and reflect on the season. Then it’s time to hold your breath (or cover your ears) as a high-performance Red Bull racing thunderbolt turns the streets of Berkheim into a racetrack. Next up, the skies over Berkheim provide the backdrop for an aerial display by Red-Bull air race pilot Matthias Dolderer and pilots from nearby Tannheim in Allgäu. The show reaches its climax when Sandro Cortese gets on his World Championship bike to perform a show run through Berkheim and sign autographs. To round off this unforgettable day, there will be freestyle motocross action and an aftershow party with music from Radio7 DJ Matze Ihring.

Motorsport experts Alex Hofmann and Edgar Mielke (Sport1) will be moderating the reception. Thanks to the joint organisers Sandro’s long-standing sponsor Red Bull and his home district Berkheim the event is free of charge for all fans. Those of you who can’t make it on the day can follow the reception live on Sport1 (broadcasting time: 14.30 – 15.30).
