Mapfre Aspar Team Moto3 concludes positive Almeria test

Mapfre Aspar Team Moto3’s Jonas Folger and Eric Granado rounded out a successful three-day test today at the Almeria circuit in southern Spain.

Folger spent the final day testing various suspensions with part-worn tyres to find a configuration that gives his the best possible stability. His best lap of the three-day test came in the last run of the day, on the penultimate lap. Folger, having found his best setting, put on some new tyres right at the end to post a 1.40’10. His teammate Granado succeeded in improving its record from yesterday by three tenths, predominantly getting to grips with the bike’s engine brake.

Jonas Folger 1.40’10  (48 laps)

"We worked with used tires for most of the day, and did much suspension work. We were playing with the hardness of the two, to find the best balance. We have taken an important step in the end that helped us improve both times as well as sensations. These three training days have been very useful, and after much testing, we now know what is best for us."

Eric Granado 1.43’10 (45 laps)

"Halfway through the day we had a problem with the engine that forced me to stop for a while. Fortunately the team worked past this so I could take advantage of the afternoon. Finally we tested some new tires that I liked a lot. I'm very pleased that during these three days I learned a lot with my team, and our adaptation went perfectly. Now I’ll get into shape over the winter, and lose some weight, to be in top form for when I get back onto to the bike."
