MotoGP™ riders full throttle at SnowMobile 2012

Some of MotoGP™’s main protagonists gathered in Austria last weekend for the annual SnowMobile 2012 event to go head to head in a slightly different kind of race.

Held at a circuit through the village of Saalbach Hinterglemm, nicknamed the Formula One of the Alps, Sandro Cortese, Mika Kallio, Scott Redding, Marcel Schrötter, Niklas Ajo and his dad Aki Ajo were among those challenging the likes of German DTM driver Timo Scheider, MX3 World Champion Matthias Walkner and Trial World Champion Adam Raga in a snow mobile race.

Walkner’s outfit, Team Ebner Event Logistics, came first, ahead of the KINI Racing squad with Scheider and the Goaßstall Racing Team lead by Raga. Cortese’s Red Bull Ring team come home in seventh, while Team LangGruppe.com with Kallio, Redding, Schrötter, Ajo and Vesa Kallio, had to retire after several technical issues whilst riding in the top five. One team could contain up to six riders.
