Silva returns in place of Salom in Avintia Blusens team from Motegi

Thursday, 4 October 2012

Iván Silva has been thrown back into the fold as he is back in for the Avintia Blusens team as a replacement for David Salom from the Motegi round.

In an official statement from the team it said that it has decided to bring back Silva in order to use the final four races as a “test” for their bike’s technical evolution. In the same way that Silva worked on the development of the bikes at the start of the year, trying different chassis and solutions, he will now be responsible for carrying out the tests requested by the technical team.

The statement also said that all the team members acknowledge the assistance and involvement shown by David Salom in the two MotoGP races with them, and wish him well for the future.

Salom told motogp.com: “The team gave me the opportunity to ride the bike, which I appreciate, and has now decided not to continue. It is true that the results have not arrived, but the conditions in these two races have not been the best, and they have been two difficult races. I already said I expected things to be better from Japan, but won’t have the chance to prove it... I wish Iván the best of luck.”
