Fenati back on the scene at Mugello

Fenati Mugello review
Wednesday, 18 July 2012

Only 20 milliseconds separated Team Italia FMI’s Romano Fenati from victory at his home track in Mugello last weekend, in what was a spectacular Moto3™ race for fans and riders alike.

After finishing second in Qatar and taking a win in Jerez, the young Italian had dropped off the radar somewhat. Yet his display in front of his home crowd saw him show his potential once more by taking his third podium in his rookie season. Having started in eighth, Fenati had to display not only outright pace, but also race-craft, which the 16-year-old did well, much to the delight of the his home fans.

Romano Fenati

"It was a hard and fair race. When we lap so close, everyone can win and I'm happy for my result. Now we have a little break, but I want to stay focused on what we've done so far. I can't wait to head to Indy, as it has a fascinating history."

Roberto Locatelli, FMI Technical Coordinator

"Romano proved to be a top rider in Moto3. The team is working at its best, and we're ready to face the second half of the championship."
