Folger to miss Jerez through illness

Thursday, 26 April 2012

Young German Moto3™ rider Jonas Folger of the IodaRacing Project will miss this weekend´s Gran Premio bwin De España race due to glandular fever.

Having been suffering with the illness for the past week, Folger has been forced to withdraw from the event on medical advice. As well as lacking sufficient strength, glandular fever causes swelling of the spleen, which in the event of a fall could lead to further complications. Participation in the event is considered too dangerous.

It is not yet clear whether Folger will recover in time for the next race in Estoril, Portugal, which takes place on the 6th May.
