GP Team Switzerland’s Randy Krummenacher made a terrific comeback from injury last weekend at the AirAsia Australian Grand Prix, where he finished ninth in a hard fought Moto2™ race.

A false neutral on the first lap put the Swiss rider in a difficult situation after his return from a broken metatarsal. He was however not deterred and put in a battling performance to finish ninth in a field that was bestowed with the likes of Pol Espargaró, Marc Márquez and Scott Redding, who have been consistently quick all year.

Krummenacher, who’s team will quit racing at the end of this season, will hope for another strong finish in Valencia on board his Kalex machine to put himself on the map for next season.

"Phillip Island was a really good weekend. After the morning warm up I thought that my goal was to ride up front. I got a good start, but when I tried to shift into second gear, the idle jumped in. That cost me a few positions. Soon after I found my rhythm and I noticed that I could run faster than the guys in front of me. But after just four laps the rear tire faded considerably. I had to work hard to make up positions.

“In light of that I came ninth, so I have to be really happy. Overall, I am very pleased with my first race weekend after the injury, although I hoped for a better race result after the practices."
