MotoGP™ remains in Mugello for official test on Monday

Sunday, 15 July 2012

Following a tough weekend of racing at the Mugello track in Italy, the MotoGP™ grid will meet once again tomorrow morning to commence a one-day official in-season test at the Tuscan circuit.

All factory teams will be present, as well as the majority of satellite and CRT teams, as the riders seek to iron out problems or gain a further edge heading into the Laguna Seca round in California in a couple of weeks. The only absentees will be the injured Karel Abraham with his Cardion AB Racing machine and Paul Bird Motorsport’s James Ellison. Joining the Ducati Team is their official test rider Franco Battaini, who substituted for Abraham at the Sachsenring in Germany.

Few teams have officially announced what they will be testing, however the Repsol Honda Team has confirmed it has brought its 2013 prototype racer for the test, to try and eliminate the chatter issues both Casey Stoner and Dani Pedrosa have been having. Should the riders prefer the bike, the Japanese outfit has confirmed the machines will be made available at the earliest possible time this season.

The test will run in two sessions tomorrow, the first from 10am to 1pm, and the second from 2pm to 6pm local time. motogp.com will provide hourly timing updates, rider interviews and will bring you all the latest news from the track throughout the day.
