The Italian rider just completed an intense and exhaustive shakedown on the Imola track, where he made the first rounds on the CRT-FTR of the San Carlo Honda Gresini team.

Just after 10am on Friday morning, Michele Pirro began pre-season on track work with the new CRT bike of the San Carlo Honda Gresini team, a prototype with an FTR and Honda CBR 1000R motor that will debut in the premier class this season.

The Imola circuit was the track of choice, and today was the first contact wthe bike had with the tarmac to try out the electronics and new parts to perform a thorough check, which continues tomorrow and Sunday in preparation for the next important test in Jerez, scheduled from 23-25 of March.

The brand new CRT of the San Carlo Honda Gresini team already feels good according to Michele Pirro, who began the most important work today: The development of an ambitious and totally new project.

Michele Pirro:

"Finally, I got to ride my CRT, the bike that I’ll face the MotoGP championship on. I has really been a first shakedown, where we tried to verify that everything works as well as possible. We also defined what we will work on the next two days at Imola, and also at the first Official Test for us in Jerez, which will be especially important. We are aware that a lot of work remains, but we are confident that there is a lot of potential and that if we take the right decisions, we can do well. A few laps are not enough to make big announcements, but there is a ton of enthusiasm and this environment will help us continue with this challenge.”
