Cycleworld.com: Spies surgery successful, but out for rest of the season

U.S. website www.cycleworld.com has announced that Yamaha Factory Racing’s Ben Spies has undergone successful surgery to fix the shoulder injury sustained in a crash at last weekend’s Malaysian GP. He also fractured a rib and suffered contusions to his lungs in the accident. In information obtained from the rider’s mother, Mary Spies, it cited a 10 to 12 week recovery period, meaning the Texan will be out for the rest of of the season, as well as the post-season test.
