Rossi quickest in Silverstone morning warm-up

Sunday, 17 June 2012

In the Moto3™ morning warm-up session of the Hertz British Grand Prix it was Racing Team Germany’s Louis Rossi who led the way ahead of Danny Kent and Sandro Cortese.

Held in dry conditions with specs of sunshine on the Silverstone circuit, it was Rossi who improved his showing from qualifying yesterday with a top time of 2.16’730. He led the way from Red Bull KTM Ajo’s local boy Danny Kent, who managed to keep his championship leading teammate Sandro Cortese at bay in third.

Today’s pole sitter, Blusens Avintia’s Maverick Viñales, finished fourth, ahead of Estrella Galicia 0,0’s Miguel Oliveira. Despite the much-improved conditions there were two crashers in the form of wild-card entrant, Racing Steps Foundation KRP’s John McPhee and Ambrogio Next Racing’s Giulian Pedone. Both riders walked away unhurt.
