Team CatalunyaCaixa Repsol’s Marc Márquez has been ordered to rest for one week after damaging his thumb in last weekend’s crash at the Monster Energy Grand Prix de France.

After sliding off track in treacherous conditions at the soaking wet circuit in Le Mans, Márquez underwent examinations at the USP Institut Universitari Dexeus in Barcelona to examine his right hand, where it was confirmed he has some damage to his thumb.

Following this, he has been told to rest for one week, yet doctors have assured him he will be in full health to re-challenge for the championship lead once more in just under two week’s time at his home round at the Gran Premi Aperol de Catalunya.
