Viñales: "We improved the engine, but we need more"

Saturday at the Jerez circuit provided the best weather and track conditions of all three of the test days. Maverick Viñales completed the test without incident and looking very competitive. The young Moto3™ representative of Avintia Racing was among the fastest riders in the field each day, with lap times very close to those reported by Britain's Danny Kent, the rider who topped the unofficial timesheets at this test.

Maverick Viñales (1’47.52) 48 laps:
"After three days of testing I am really happy. We worked very hard on the chassis and improved the engine a little, but we still need more. We ran really good times and we're less than a second off the 125cc record. In next month's test we have to try to lower them and be even closer to the record, if not better. I think with the help of Honda we can get there. Now there’s a break where we have to try to get in the best physical shape possible before Qatar. I’m really excited but we have to be careful because it won’t be easy. There’s a lot of very good competition. We'll see."
