Solid Bradl fifth fastest in MotorLand qualifying practice

Saturday, 29 September 2012

LCR Honda rider Stefan Bradl is looking in good shape riding his RC213V at Aragón, finally enjoying a dry qualifying session on Saturday afternoon to take fifth on the MotoGP™ grid.

After Friday’s difficult opening day at the Gran Premio Iveco de Aragón the MotoGP™ action resumed on day two at the Spanish circuit with low temperatures and bad weather.

Those conditions hindered the riders’ preparations in the morning free practice session but Bradl demonstrated his wet riding ability, setting the fifth best lap time and repeating his strong performance in the dry in the 60-minute qualifying session.

“I am pretty satisfied about my qualifying because we lapped with a good pace from the beginning of the session. Unfortunately in one middle-session run I suffered a bit because of the front tyre. We were using the soft rubber the whole session and normally I prefer the hard one but in these cold conditions we thought the soft ones were the best choice. At the end I was trying to put the things together but it was not easy because the rear tyre dropped very fast. I was hoping to get one more position on the grid but P5 is good anyway.”
