In 15°C temperatures under sunny skies, Pons 40 HP Tuenti’s Pol Espargaró set the fastest time in the morning warm-up ahead of this afternoon's Grande Prémio de Portugal Circuito Estoril.

The Jerez race-winner was on top form this morning, as he managed to outpace pole-sitter Marc Marquez, who was just fractions of a second behind his compatriot on his Team CatalunyaCaixa Repsol machine. In third place was Espargaró's teammate Esteve Rabat, only 18 hundredths down on Marquez.

Tech 3 Racing's Bradley Smith crashed in the session after losing the front, whilst QMMF Racing Team's Elena Rosell followed suit just a few minutes before the end. Both were unhurt during the incidents.

With the top ten qualifiers separated by just over one second and this morning's warm-up being another closely contested, the Moto2 race should prove to be another thriller at Estoril.
