Oliveira heads Moto3™ morning warm-up in Jerez

Sunday, 29 April 2012

In mostly sunny but cool conditions on a slightly damp track, Estrella Galicia 0,0´s Miguel Oliveira set the fastest time in this morning´s warm-up before the Gran Premio bwin de España.

With a wet race highly likely, the riders took full advantage of the heavy dew on the track to test their settings for the race commencing at 11am local time. Oliveira, who starts from third on the grid today, had been fastest in the previous wet practice session, and will no doubt be looking to capitalize on this form in the race. His fastest time of 1.57´931 beat San Carlo Gresini Moto3´s Niccolo Antonelli and Caretta Technology´s Jack Miller.

Pole sitter Alex Rins, Oliveira´s team mate, finished 10th, whilst second-on-the-grid Sandro Cortese on his Red Bull KTM Ajo finished 14th.

JHK T-Shirt Laglisse´s Adrian Martin was caught out early by the track conditions and slid off, putting an end to his session, whilst Air-Asia-Sic-Ajo´s Zulfahmi Khairuddin had a big wobble towards the end.
