Avintia Blusens’ Hiroshi Aoyama will assess his fitness after a broken wrist from just over a week ago the day before the Sepang test, as his recovery is taking longer than expected.
The Japanese rider yesterday visited the USP Dexeus University Institute in Barcelona, where his consultant Dr. Xavier Mir confirmed that the swelling had gone down and that he could move the wrist. However, Aoyama was advised to keep it still for another week to speed up the healing process.
The injury, which he got motocrossing 12 days ago, could be a slight hindrance as his CRT outfit commences its Sepang test schedule with the ECU test for the new Magneti Marelli. Aoyama will travel to Malaysia tomorrow, and will then assess his fitness at the track before track time commences.
