Espargaró gets the hammer down in Valencia

Tuenti HP 40’s Pol Espargaró was once again the pace setter as the Moto2™ grid reached the halfway point of its final day of testing in Valencia.

With much improved track temperatures Espargaró dropped below the 1.35 mark with a 1.34’758, followed by Mapfre Aspar Team Moto2’s Nico Terol and Italtrans Racing Team’s Julián Simón. The Spanish trio were the only ones to set times within the 1.34s, while Interwetten-Paddock’s Tom Lüthi was less than a tenth off.

It was once again a day for the usual contenders, with Terol’s teammate Jordi Torres and Pons’ Esteve Rabat in tow, followed by the Marc VDS Racing Team duo of Mika Kallio and Scott Redding. QMMF Racing Team’s Rafid Topan Sucipto is not on track today, after undergoing a check up for his three crashes on the preceding days. Whilst he is not seriously hurt, a mix of pain and jetlag was sufficient for him to wait until the Jerez test next week.
