Lüthi operated in native Switzerland

Interwetten-Paddock’s Tom Lüthi, who was involved in a heavy crash in the Valencia test yesterday, is being operated in his local Bern in Switzerland this morning.

The rider, who was involved in a collision with Honda Gresini Moto2’s Ratthapark Wilairot, was initially treated in the Clinica Mobile at the track, following which he was taken to Valencia’s 9 d'Octubre Hospital with a broken right arm and shoulder.

He was stabilized there, before being flown to Bern at 22:00 last night to undergo an operation this morning at 4:00 with Dr. Marc Mettler, his regular consultant. The team confirmed at 12:00 CET today that the surgery had gone well, and that further updates on his recovery will follow.
