Guevara heads Jerez test after fog delays proceedings

It was CIP’s rookie Juanfran Guevara who was quickest at the halfway point at the Jerez Moto3™ test today as he finished the morning session in front of Mapfre Aspar Team Moto3’s Jonas Folger and Estrella Galicia 0,0’s Alex Rins.

Despite being met with sunshine on the second day of Moto3™ testing at the Jerez circuit in southern Spain, fog hindered the majority of riders from going out before at least 12:OOCET.

Teams and riders were ultimately able to get their first bit of dry time since Valencia last week once track action did get underway with Guevara going quickest at the 2pm mid-day point with a 1.48’176. Folger was only 0.094s slower, whilst Rins was a further 0.139s off the pace.

In fourth, JHK T-Shirt Laglisse’s Maverick Viñales will be hoping to make the jump back to the top, whilst behind him in fifth, his cousin Isaac Viñales on his Bimbo-Ongetta-Centro Seta was putting on a good show. Sixth spot went to yesterday’s pace-setter in the wet, Ambrogio Racing’s Danny Webb.

Moto3™ teams will now have time to run by themselves for a period, after sharing the track with Moto2™ in the morning.
