De Puniet eager to cure chatter issues

Randy de Puniet was somewhat anxious leaving Sepang last week, keen to overcome the chatter issues which so far this year have characterised his Power Electronics Aspar bike.

On Thursday afternoon, de Puniet became the fastest CRT rider of the test by shooting ahead of teammate Aleix Espargaró during a late low-fuel run. Despite that fact, the former remains highly keen to solve his current quandary.

"These three days have been interesting because the first test here was just a disaster for us, with the chattering," the Frenchman told in a video interview.

"It’s still the main problem and on Wednesday we decided to stop focusing on that and look at other areas. That allowed me to improve my lap time a lot and feel more comfortable, even though the chattering remains the main problem."

2013 marks the second year of CRT bikes in the MotoGP™ World Championship, having been introduced when the 1000cc era began last season.
