Iannone pleased with progress after third test

Andrea Iannone finished last week’s Sepang test on the cusp of the top ten, analysing an assortment of components for Energy T.I. Pramac Racing Team. Ultimately, his best lap was only eight tenths down on Nicky Hayden’s Ducati Team Machine which finished ninth.

The Italian makes the climb to MotoGP™ after competing in the first three seasons of Moto2™, where he achieved a total of eight race wins and finished third in the championship every year from 2010 to 2012.

"I’m happy because I tried many different settings with the bike," Iannone told in a video interview. "On both Wednesday and Thursday, I used the same setup from Jerez and, overall, I’m pleased with the progress I and the other Ducati riders are making.

"The last day was a little difficult because we made modifications to various parts of the bike, so we couldn’t push as hard. But generally we are improving day by day and the difference to Dovizioso (Ducati Team’s leading running in Malaysia) is a bit smaller than before."

In 2013, Iannone is joined at Pramac Racing by American Ben Spies.
