Cortese and Dynavolt Intact GP present 2013 bike

Sandro Cortese has unveiled the bike on which he will challenge for a second consecutive title this year. The German, reigning Moto3™ World Champion, now takes a step up the ladder to Moto2™ with Dynavolt Intact GP.

At the end of last week, the team revealed its 2013 Kalex machine and its livery at the headquarters of Keckeisen Accumulators in Memmingen, Germany. Over 250 guests were in attendance, ranging from sponsors and supporters to the media. The evening was presented by Edgar Mielke, presenter for television broadcaster Sport 1.

“A dream has come true for me, with the new Dynavolt Intact GP team,” Cortese commented. “I have worked with Jürgen Lingg, Gero Beetz, Manuel Mikan and Steffen Rüdiger in the past and I could not have asked for a better team. Right from the beginning we certainly have to gain a lot of experience in this class, as you can see from past years that others making the step up have needed time to acclimatise to the high level in Moto2. Over the winter I have prepared myself perfectly.

“I am sure that, after a while, I will be able to achieve good results for the team and myself. For 2013 we expect a period of adaptation, as the much more powerful, heavier bike requires a change of riding style. On top of that, this new class for me has some very good riders and is highly competitive.”

During the presentation, the team’s sole rider was sent a video message from China by Leonhard Chen, owner of title sponsor the Dynavolt group.

Ahead of the season-opening night race in Qatar on 7 April, Moto2™ will return to Jerez for its final pre-season test next week; once again, it will share the Spanish venue with the Moto3™ field. Before travelling there, the Dynavolt outfit will carry out a private run in Almeria.
