Cycle World: Spies shoulder not yet recovered

Ben Spies’ shoulder is far from fully recuperated. That is according to crew chief Tom Houseworth, with the Pramac Racing Team rider having sat out part of last month’s Sepang test session as damaged scar tissue slowly heals.

"Ben’s shoulder isn’t ready," Houseworth admitted during an interview with Cycle World. "It needs a couple more months. He was pretty down on himself (at Sepang). But guys in pro ball take six, eight months to come back from that injury. I could see it in his face; he was in pain."

Houseworth went on to discuss differences between Ducati and the Japanese teams which are continuing to set the pace at off-season tests, with the Italian outfit – now owned by Germany’s Audi – having so far failed to win back the world title it first claimed with Casey Stoner in 2007.
