Edwards targets CRT top spot at Losail

Edwards targets CRT top spot at Losail

As MotoGP™ departs the Jerez test and heads towards Qatar for the season-opening Grand Prix, Colin Edwards is confident of repeating his 2012 result as the top CRT runner.

Edwards finished the Jerez test in 24th place, having spent most of his time working on the electronics package of the NGM Mobile Forward Racing machine.

"It was nasty out there," he told of the greasy conditions. "It was a good day to have a teammate – just in case we needed any last touches! Overall I’m happy with the test. The main point is still the electronics, but we have got to a point where we are consistent, so I’m happy; I’m happy to be leaving and heading to the first race."

When specifically asked if the team is fully prepared for Round 1, Edwards replied:

"We’re ready. We could have done with three good dry days, but we got a lot done with the short amount of time we had…we are going to be playing catch-up as soon as we get there, but we’ll get it done. It’s going to suit me…I like that track! I’ve already committed to several people to being the winning CRT there."

En route to his 12th position at Losail last year, Edwards’ nearest challenger for CRT honours was the Power Electronics Aspar of Randy de Puniet.
