Bradl: "Losail circuit suiting the Yamahas"

Stefan Bradl admits that Yamaha look to have the edge for this weekend’s Commercial Bank Grand Prix of Qatar. As Jorge Lorenzo, Cal Crutchlow and Valentino Rossi made up the top three, the German finished seventh on Thursday.

Confident of achieving a maiden MotoGP™ podium finish in 2013, the Moto2™ World Champion of two years ago is expecting a tough start this weekend.

"Everything went well tonight," the LCR Honda MotoGP rider began to explain to "There’s nothing special to say. The conditions and grip levels weren’t as bad as they looked, as I felt good on the bike, but unfortunately I made too many mistakes at Turn 1; I was braking too late, too much. We have to improve on that because the bike is still a bit nervous in hard braking areas.

"I feel that the style of the circuit fits the Yamaha well. That’s a little bit of an advantage for them, but the Honda is not so bad either; we have good top speed and the Honda is competitive everywhere. That said, we have to work hard because the Yamaha is a strong machine, but in general I think we can go with them."

Bradl ended Day 1 ahead of the Repsol Honda Team bike of Dani Pedrosa, although the leading Honda runner was Repsol´s Marc Márquez in fourth place.
