Bradl "ready" for first challenge of 2013

Thursday sees the MotoGP™ riders take to the track at Losail for the first time this year, for opening practice ahead of Sunday’s Commercial Bank Grand Prix of Qatar. For Stefan Bradl, 2013 promises to be the season in which he cements a first podium finish in the top class.

Throughout pre-season testing, the German appears to have been the greatest threat to Yamaha Factory Racing and Repsol Honda Team who have continuously topped the timesheets. With this in mind, Bradl is highly optimistic heading into Round 1.

"I am happy to go to Qatar and I feel ready for the first race of the season," the LCR Honda MotoGP rider says on Thursday. "It’s a circuit where I normally go fast and like the layout and the atmosphere because racing at nighttime is awesome.

"Now I have more experience on this bike in this class and won’t be as nervous as with my debut last year; I feel this circuit could be a good chance to obtain a good result."

Bradl moved up to MotoGP™ 12 months ago, having convincingly sealed the Moto2™ title in 2011. Last year at Losail, he qualified ninth and finished eighth.
