Pedrosa struggling with corner entry issue

Pedrosa struggling with corner entry issue

Dani Pedrosa found himself eighth on the timesheets as the Commercial Bank Grand Prix of Qatar began with Free Practice 1 on Thursday night.

Having triupmhed in six of the last eight Grands Prix in 2012, Pedrosa is viewed by many as a strong title contender this year. However his season has not begun in the best of ways, with the Spaniard having struggled on corner entry at Losail.

“Today was not our best day,” he said bluntly as Jorge Lorenzo led the way for Yamaha Factory Racing. “We could not ride the bike well because we had a problem on corner entry, so we have not managed to achieve better laps. Hopefully things will be better tomorrow and we can return to setting good lap times.”

Rookie teammate Marc Márquez was unable to prevent a Yamaha lockout of the top three, but did finish half a second quicker than Pedrosa to seal fourth spot.
