Petrucci continues to struggle under braking

Friday was a challenging affair for the Came IodaRacing Project riders, as Danilo Petrucci and Lukáš Pešek rode their CRT bikes to 20th and 22nd positions in practice.

Petrucci was the leading bike, but admits he is still struggling to get to grips with the dusty Losail International Circuit.

"I still have grip problems, especially at the front and I on the slopes with little adhesion, where I've never been good," the Italian explains.

"I have problems under braking and corner entry where I cannot stop…unfortunately, others are far ahead - especially Espargarò who is going strong. I will try to be in the second group of the CRTs."

Saturday will see Pešek take part in his first ever MotoGP™ qualifying.

"We are still working on some details, but not bad indeed," the Czech newcomer explains. "We are not going so slowly and we can do even better. I'm learning as a rookie; it is quite difficult but what I really need is to just work hard."

Both Ioda riders are competing with BMW-powered Suter machines.
