Bradl looks to reap rewards in Austin

Stefan Bradl is fully aware that Sunday’s Red Bull Grand Prix of the Americas could present him with a golden opportunity to pick up a career-first finish in MotoGP™.

Riding for LCR Honda MotoGP, the 2011 Moto2™ World Champion was slower only that Repsol Honda Team pairing Marc Marquez and Dani Pedrosa on Friday.

“At first, the track was not in such good condition,” Bradl told motogp.com. “The temperature was so cold and the tyres did not work very well. I was struggling a lot this morning because of that. This afternoon the temperature was higher, I was able to post a faster lap time from the beginning and I did feel much better.

“We still have to work on our suspension settings because it’s completely different to what we had at the test here, as the grip situation is now completely different. On the last run, when I improved my lap time, we had worked on the rear suspension which was a big step forward and a big help for me.

“It’s the opposite to Qatar because it seems the Hondas are much quicker here (than the Yamaha bikes). We have to make the best of this situation.”

Judging by the Friday timesheets, Bradl’s closest challenger is championship leader Jorge Lorenzo who was half a second in arrears of the German.
