Injured Abraham ruled out of Sunday’s race

Karel Abraham has been declared unfit to compete in Sunday’s inaugural Red Bull Grand Prix of the Americas following a collision in qualifying.

The Cardion AB Motoracing rider contacted with the GO&FUN Gresini Honda of Bryan Staring towards the end of Q1. It was the Czech who sustained the hardest landing and he was taken to the Clinica Mobile, where a dislocation of the broken right collarbone was revealed.

The 23-year-old was transported by ambulance to the Brackenridge University Hospital of Austin where surgery was carried out. Although his recovery is expected to take several weeks, he may still be able to race in Jerez on 5 May.
