SIC unveils new Malaysian Junior Project

Breaking new frontiers, Sepang International Circuit (SIC), who have successfully developed Muhammad Zulfahmi Khairuddin into a world class rider, will be further expanding its international presence by venturing into the highly successful CEV Repsol Spanish Championship.

Unveiling the new Malaysian Junior Project in collaboration with the three-times world championship winning team Ajo Motorsports, SIC will be fielding the two-rider TOUCHLINE SIC AJO Racing Team featuring former Red Bull Rookie rider 16-year old Amirul Hafiq Azmi and Husni Aizat Abdul Malik, a graduate from the new SIC Ninja 250 Cup Series.

Second overall in the maiden season of the SIC Ninja 250 Cup, the 19-year old Husni was selected ahead of inaugural champion Muhammad Ammar Hafiq, who joined both Amirul and Husni in trials held in Spain earlier this year by Ajo Motorsports.

"I am truly proud and honoured to announce the participation of Amirul Hafiq Azmi and Husni Aizat Abdul Malik in the Spanish Open CEV Repsol Championship in the Moto3 class under the banners of TOUCHLINE SIC AJO Racing Team under a new Malaysian Junior Project," says SIC Chief Executive Officer Datuk Razlan Razali.

The 2013 CEV Repsol Championship kicks off this weekend at Barcelona’s Circuit de Catalunya, climaxing at the Circuito de Jerez on 17 November. A total of seven race meetings will be held over the course of the season.
