Difficult weekend ends with crash for Bradl

A second crash in three days brought a premature end to Stefan Bradl’s race at Jerez on Sunday, sliding out of action on the fourth lap.

The German’s first slip-up had been on Friday. He then fought his was through Q1 to qualify eighth on the grid, but was caught out by more front end problems on Sunday.

“Basically we were not able to fix our problems throughout the weekend and even today I could not ride the bike in a smooth way,” he reported. “I early crashed because, since the beginning of the race, I could not push in the front and this overall package did not suit my riding style.

“This tough weekend ended with a crash and I feel sorry for everybody. We must forget this race and move on, working hard for the Le Mans GP.”

Bradl was particularly disappointed to have endured two retirements from the opening trio of Grands Prix, as he also crashed in Qatar just under one month ago.
