Bradl relieved to regain speed

Stefan Bradl was in a more confident mood following the opening pair of practice sessions at Le Mans, having ended the day fifth fastest and only two and a half tenths of a second off Dani Pedrosa’s leading time for Repsol Honda Team.

Bradl has generally struggled over the first three races of the season, which includes crashing his LCR Honda MotoGP bike in both Qatar and Spain. Experimenting with new parts in France on Friday, the German was optimistic after second practice.

“The Jerez weekend was a really disappointing one for us,” he told in a video interview. “I think we are now back up to normal speed. This morning we really changed a lot on the bike, doing a lot of work on items. It paid off this afternoon.

“We still struggled a little bit in our normal area of braking, where we have found something to improve and gain more stability there. That helped me a lot on corner entry and with the feeling on the front - it’s a good step in the right direction.”

Bradl is now preparing for a tough day on Saturday, when rain showers are forecast to hit the legendary Le Mans venue.
