Bradl: ‘Finally we have done a good job’

Stefan Bradl was both pleased and relieved to have qualified fifth at Le Mans, missing out on a front row placing by just 31 thousandths of a second.

The LCR Honda MotoGP rider had suffered a number of frustrations over recent weeks, not least as he crashed out of both the Qatar and Spanish Grands Prix, but he is optimistic of a much stronger showing in the Monster Energy Grand Prix de France.

“Finally we have done a good job in qualifying, as the gap from third to sixth in the classification is very narrow,” the German commented. “It’s nice to be back after the difficult weekend in Jerez and I knew I was enough fast to get P5, which is our usual position. I want to thank the team for their efforts because they have done a good job to adjust the front end; working on suspension, electronics and mapping.

“Now I can ride the bike with more confidence and no matter what the weather will be tomorrow because I am confident we can race at the front.”

Bradl places particular emphasis on the climatic conditions as forecasters are continuing to predict that rain will affect the Le Mans area on Sunday.
