BMW M reveals new MotoGP™ M6 at Catalunya

MotoGP™ official car provider BMW M has taken two special versions of its BMW M6 Gran Coupé to the Circuit de Catalunya.

On the first day of the Gran Premi Aperol de Catalunya, Dorna Sports CEO Carmelo Ezpeleta and BMW M MotoGP Advisor Loris Capirossi were each handed their brand-new BMW M6 Gran Coupé, which they will use as their official car over the course of the 2013 season. The latest top model to come out of BMW M GmbH is powered by a highrev V8 engine with M TwinPower Turbo technology, which generates 412 kW/560 hp and propels it from 0 to 100 km/h in 4.2 seconds.

While Carmelo Ezpeleta was looking forward to frozen silver metallic paint with a full Merino leather interior in cohiba brown and contrast stitching in opal white, Loris Capirossi took home a model in frozen bronze metallic paint with full Merino leather interior in opal white and contrast stitching in amaro brown.

The involvement of BMW M GmbH in the MotoGP™ World Championship is based on several pillars. The BMW M Safety Cars contribute to ensuring that the practice sessions and race take place safely. The driver who qualifies best over the course of the season will receive the BMW M Award – and, as is the case every year, a brand-new BMW M Automobile.

The range of activities the fans can look forward to on race weekends include special events and paddock experiences – like the pit lane tour or the BMW M Safety Car Laps – as well as the public area, BMW M Service Center and a diverse incentive programme.

This season, BMW M and MotoGP™ are celebrating a special anniversary, as the successful partnership enters its 15th year. To mark this, the winner of the 2013 BMW M Award can look forward to a very special prize: a BMW M6 Coupé with an exclusive ‘Frozen Black Metallic’ paintjob.
