The CEV Repsol show continues in Albacete

This weekend Albacete circuit, a regular on the calendar since the beginning of the CEV Repsol, will host the first of two races scheduled at the La Mancha track. The extensive experience of most of the teams and riders at this circuit will help them refine their setups to in the quest to stand out from the rest.

It’s tight at the top of the Moto3™ results table with very few points separating the best five riders. After María Herrera’s heroic performance in the last CEV Repsol, the pressure is on to show the locals that she is still going strong. She will need to remember that her toughest rival ―teammate and leader of the championship, Marcos Ramírez (SPA-KTM)― won’t make things easy for her. The inconsistency of the younger riders so far in the Championship leaves the door wide open for a weekend of surprises: anything is possible!

In Moto2™ there is no time to sit back, with three races already run and maximum thrills promised in the struggle for top positions. Ramos (SPA-Ariane) and Mariñelarena (SPA-Suter), traditionally leaders of the category, can’t rest on their laurels after the Swiss rider Jesko Raffin (SWI-Kalex) demonstrated his leadership potential at Motorland Aragón. And we shouldn’t forget the American rider Noyes (USA-Suter), who seems more in tune with his Suter than ever.

Somewhat less fiercely disputed is the overall classification in Stock Extreme. The Albacete track seems tailor-made for current leader ―Xavi Forés (SPA-Ducati)― to take his third consecutive podium and consolidate the Italian constructor’s chances of winning the manufacturers' championship.  Behind him in the overall standings are Carmelo Morales (SPA-Kawasaki) and Iván Silva (BMW Motorrad), who have three wins in this category and on this track, and who are certain to challenge the Valencian rider.

The Kawasaki Z Cup will have two races in this meeting, the first one on Saturday at 5.30PM. The twenty participating riders will take advantage of the forecast good weather and enjoy their passion for racing and the atmosphere of camaraderie that the winners in the last race at Montmeló enthused about. Albacete will test their skills on the bike after a two month break since the only race of the season held at this time.

Next Sunday’s race schedule is as follows:

11:00 Stock Extreme (20 laps)
12:00 Moto2 (20 laps)
13:00 Moto3 (19 laps)
14:00 Kawasaki Z Cup (18 laps)
