Lorenzo offers prizes for social media milestone

He may have already claimed two premier class MotoGP™ world titles, but Jorge Lorenzo is now celebrating a somewhat different achievement: no less than two million global followers across a range of social media networks. As a gesture to those who have helped make it happen, the Mallorcan has launched a competition offering a selection of great prizes.

So far in 2013, Lorenzo has claimed a trio of MotoGP™ victories – at Losail, Mugello and Barcelona, respectively - as well as officially becoming one of the world’s most active sportsmen when it comes to social media. Naturally, the figures continue to rise at a rapid rate, but at the time of writing ‘X Fuera’ was able to boast the following:

- 843,955 fans on Facebook

- 817,000 followers on Twitter

- 249,537 fans on Google+

- 5,000 subscribers on YouTube

- 85,900 followers on Instagram

To mark the ‘unconditional support’ of his fans, Lorenzo has organized an online competition through his official Facebook page. In order to take part, users are required to ‘like’ the Yamama Factory Racing rider’s Facebook page and invite as many friends as possible to also participate in the contest. The winner, plus four friends of their choice, will each be rewarded with: one replica Jorge Lorenzo racing helmet, one Grand Prix paddock pass to their desired race and one special edition Jorge Lorenzo ‘Sector No Limits’ wrist watch.

The competition runs between 2nd August and 2nd September and its winner will be announced on Lorenzo’s official website. Good luck!
