Marquez domination continues in Warm-Up

Marc Marquez has maintained his stranglehold on the Red Bull Indianapolis Grand Prix event by comfortably leading the Warm-Up on race day morning. The Repsol Honda Team rider is yet to be headed in any session so far this weekend.

On Sunday morning, the lead time came in the form of 1’38.776 as the field concentrated on race preparations. Monster Yamaha Tech3’s Cal Crutchlow was second, but ran off-track in the closing stages to avoid any oil that may have been deposited by a suspected engine problem for wildcard rider Blake Young (Attack Performance Racing). The top three was completed by Marquez’s teammate Dani Pedrosa, with fellow front row starter Jorge Lorenzo (Yamaha Factory Racing) fourth. Ben Spies watched from the Ignite Pramac Racing garage, having separated his left shoulder in a Saturday practice crash; the American will not be contesting the race.

The Red Bull Indianapolis Grand Prix begins at 2pm local time (GMT -4).
