Mixed feelings and bruises for Bradl

After a weekend which saw his 2014 ride with LCR Honda confirmed, but then saw two Saturday crashes followed by seventh in the race, Stefan Bradl left Indianapolis somewhat disappointed.

The tenth round of the season at the legendary Indianapolis Motor Speedway left the German rider slightly underwhelmed, especially given that the previous race had brought a superb second place at Laguna.

Bradl was consistently fast throughout the Indy free practice sessions, but crashed twice on Saturday and lacked some confidence during the race, which was also particularly physically demanding for the Honda rider.

“Honestly I am a bit disappointed about this result and I had mixed feelings in this weekend,” he admitted. “At the beginning we were very strong but after the crashes in the practices I lost a bit of confidence. We tried to adjust the bike but, during the race, those changes made the bike too heavy to ride for me.”

He added, “I could not keep the same speed for the whole race because I was too tired so I lost the guys in front of me. Now I just want to move on to Brno and try to be back in the pack.”
