The championship will serve as a new feeder series to the MotoGP™ World Championship, aiming to increase the numbers of entries from the Asian region.

"I cannot overstate the importance of this aspect in motorsports," says Datuk Razlan Razali, CEO of SIC which also hosts the Shell Advance Malaysian Motorcycle Grand Prix, "having personally witnessed the progressive results and achievements of our locally groomed riders through SIC’s talent development programme."

22 riders will compete in the inaugural Shell Advance Asia Talent Cup next year, with six raced being staged across a selection of countries in the region.
