Nakagami quickest in opening Misano practice

Takaaki Nakagami was fastest as Moto2™ practice commenced at Misano on Friday morning. The Italtrans Racing Team rider topped the timesheets from Tuenti HP 40’s Tito Rabat and Interwetten Paddock Moto2’s Tom Luthi, while championship leader and Silverstone winner Scott Redding was fourth quickest.

The GP Aperol di San Marino e Riviera di Rimini marks Round 12 of the Moto2™ season, with six races remaining in 2013. Nakagami’s pace came in the form of 1’38.634, edging out Rabat by just over one tenth of a second. In terms of title contenders, Redding (Marc VDS Racing Team) was fourth with Pol Espargaro (Tuenti HP 40) sixth. Elsewhere, there was drama for France’s Johann Zarco (Came Iodaracing Project), who fell but saw his bike continue down the race track.

Second Moto2™ practice will start at 3:05pm local time (GMT +2).
