Isaac Viñales top in tricky conditions

The Saturday action at the Gran Premio Iveco de Aragon commenced in wet-drying conditions, with Ongetta-Centro Seta rider Isaac Viñales topping the timesheet from John McPhee (Caretta Technology – RTG) and Alex Marquez (Estrella Galicia 0,0).

Viñales’ best lap of 2’10.549 came late in the session, with the riders gradually getting used to the damp feel of the track, but lapping over 10 seconds below the usual pace.
Behind Viñales, McPhee and Marquez on the timesheet were Maverick Viñales (Team Calvo) and Alex Rins (Estrella Galicia 0,0), whilst championship leader Luis Salom took no risks, with only four laps completed in 31st place.
Niccolo Antonelli (GO&FUN Gresini Moto3) ran off track several times but kept it rubber side down in sixth, whilst Niklas Ajo (Avant Tecno), Philipp Oettl (Tec Interwetten Moto3 Racing), Brad Binder (Ambrogio Racing) and Australian Red Bull KTM Ajo rider Arthur Sissis completed the top ten.
