Rossi quickest from Marquez and Crutchlow

Valentino Rossi was fastest as the MotorLand Aragón Warm-Up took place on Sunday morning. The nine-time champion led from pole-sitter Marc Marquez and Cal Crutchlow, making it a trio of different teams in the top three.

While Rossi posted 1’49.180 for Yamaha Factory Racing, less than one tenth of a second covered the top three with Marquez (Repsol Honda Team) and Crutchlow (Monster Yamaha Tech3) 18 and 97 thousandths off the pace, respectively. Honda’s Dani Pedrosa and Yamaha’s Jorge Lorenzo, fellow front row starters of Marquez, completed the top five from LCR Honda MotoGP’s Stefan Bradl.

There were no significant incidents, although Aleix Espargaro and Andrea Dovizioso did suffer off-track excursions, with the Power Electronics Aspar rider running wide at Turn 12 while the Ducati Team man escaped a lurid moment at the first corner.

The 2013 Gran Premio Iveco de Aragón will start at 2pm local time (GMT +2).
