Vazquez signs with Caretta Technology - RTG

Caretta Technology - RTG and Spanish rider Efren Vazquez will be working together in 2014, having signed a contract at MotorLand Aragón on Sunday.

The 27-year-old Spaniard made his Grand Prix debut in the 250 class in 2007, moving to the 125 tier the following year. He is currently riding in Moto3™ for Mahindra Racing, ninth overall with 62 points. His first podium came in 2010, in Qatar, ending the year in the top five of the championship. In 2011, Vazquez finished seventh and in 2012 tenth in the overall standings, and is now poised to join the team currently housing John McPhee and Red Bull KTM Ajo-bound Jack Miller.

Led by Dirk Heidolf, RTG (Racing Team Germany) will receive two new bikes from Honda in 2014, while the Japanese manufacturer will have a say as to who the second rider will be; a decision regarding this is expected at Sepang.

Dirk Heidolf (Team Principal, Caretta Technology - RTG):

“I am pleased that, with Efren Vazquez, we were able to gain a fast and experienced rider for our team. As usual, we will do our best in order to compete at the front of the World Championship. We are looking forward to a new challenge.”
