Lorenzo pips Pedrosa in Sepang Warm-Up

Reigning World Champion Jorge Lorenzo topped the timesheets as MotoGP™ Warm-Up was staged ahead of the Shell Advance Malaysian Motorcycle GP.

The leading time for Yamaha Factory Racing’s Lorenzo came in the form of 2’01.408, just 31 thousandths of a second quicker than Repsol Honda Team’s Dani Pedrosa. The second Honda of Marc Marquez, championship leader and pole-sitter, was third with Lorenzo’s teammate Valentino Rossi fourth despite an early slip off his machine at Turn 2. Avintia Blusens’ Hiroshi Aoyama also hit trouble, while Power Electronic Aspar’s Aleix Espargaro lost the front fender from his ART.

Cal Crutchlow completed the top five for Monster Yamaha Tech3, with 2006 World Champion Nicky Hayden sixth as the leading Ducati Team rider.
