Pedrosa aims for fourth win in Valencia

Should Dani Pedrosa triumph in Valencia this weekend, the Repsol Honda Team rider would have won the season-closing MotoGP™ event on no less than four occasions.

Valencia has hosted the final race of the MotoGP™ season since 2002, with Pedrosa’s trio of wins to date having come in 2007, 2009 and 2012.

“I’m looking forward to going to Valencia and racing in front of the home fans!” the Sabadell rider says on Tuesday. “We’ve had a long trip in Asia and it will be nice to race in Valencia again, where the atmosphere is always very special.

“Even though we are out of the championship now, I’ve had good results here in the past with many victories - including last year when we won after starting from the pits - and I want to end the season on a high.”

Pedrosa’s 2013 title chances mathematically evaporated at the last Grand Prix in Japan, as he heads into the finale 38 points in arrears of teammate Marc Marquez.
